I really need to update my blog more often.
Next week's AGC is written, so it ought to be done on time, but before then I'm trying to get done the next D&D excerpt (somehow, despite the one week we didn't hold D&D-night, I'm still getting further and further behind).
Cheap computers are awesome. I have a couple of old throwaways I bought for $50 each to replace my run of secondary machines - I like having two computers on my desk, but the cheap one on the left keeps dying, each time I replace it. If I lose one more, I'm going to have to blame the 80gb data drive I've been dragging along from machine to machine. Now if only all my best ram-sticks were compatible... the 512mb sim fits in these motherboards, but WinXP doesn't want to recognize it. Oh well.
BTW: Have you ever had a computer with a useless plastic section on the back of the case that covers up the metal (and possibly has icons telling you which port is the keyboard and which is the mouse)? I don't know what the technical term for them is, but I hereby coin them "crotch-guards". I now have three matching ones from these cheap old Bondwell cases... and they are all going in the garbage, along with their adamant "warranty void if broken" stickers. Fortunately, they fit inside these old keyboard-boxes, which is good, because the keyboards don't.
