AGC #413
Wow, can't believe it's been a whole 6 days since my last blog post. Although, since I have worked or slept just about every hour since 2pm last Friday, I didn't have a lot of time at home...

Here's AGC #413.

17d8+85, max first level, maybe? I didn't see a mention of an Iwin stone to boost his CL, though...And Sylvani's damage might have been higher with a bow than with Fiery Burst.

Anyways, YAY! He's DEAD! Now, what will that last guard do? Javelin, perhaps?

He was 18 HD... he had a few less HP from his Contemplative levels (d6). Although he had one monk level as a prereq, he got back the caster-level from Practiced Spellcaster.

When they changed editions, Sylvani pretty much gave up archery, though. You could spend a lot of feats to shoot things well, or one feat (and one high level casting slot) to Fiery Burst things. He'd be at best 50/50 to hit the Messiah, even with all the buffs dispelled (damn that monk-cheese level and Wisdom 26!)

For future reference, Monk's Belt gives the Wis-to-AC of a monk without any of the level loss. The class really has very little to recommend it.

It was more of an RP thing than serious minmaxing. He was, after all, part of the Northgate city module. Steele didn't modify him too much :)

Ah, pre-gen NPC. I was wondering how even massively optimized 10th level PCs managed to take him out(though Dan probably could EmpExGFB anything 3 times and it would die).
