AGC #414

Slightly overdue, but here's Here's AGC #414. If you've read "season 1" of my Real D&D Excerpts you know that players will go waaaaaaay farther than this if they get an idea into their heads on what to do...

Anyway, I blame the late on working 7+13+9 hours between 2pm Friday and 6:30pm Sunday. There was not a whole lot of time to write stuff, especially with hour-plus internet tech support issues coming up while I was home.

Gotta go...

D&D Excerpt #5

GM produces a pair of paper handouts, giving one to Tree, and another to Rohan.

GM: [to Rohan] You may find something useful in this.
Rohan: [reading] Cool.
Tree: [pleasantly surprised] Oh my god... are you serious? Oh my god..
3-eyes: Oh ya, when leaving the temple we should have brought down the guards we had tied up.
Lakshana: Didn't I say that?
GM: Oh, did you?

Did they? And what the heck else is going on as the heroes return to the temple? Find out HERE!

Insights and Income Taxes

Filed my income tax today. In case you are worried, I'm not late... I'm in Canada :)

Our filing date is the end of the month (Apr 30), and I correspondingly set my self-imposed due date to be one week earlier. So, by my logic, I'm actually 2 days ahead of schedule.

Wasn't bad using an approved online service to E-file. Wouldn't have taken an hour if my pay-slips and junk had been more organized. Of course, my couch is covered in numerous neat piles of junk sorted by function and year... this would be the time to re-sort it all into something less useless using the new boxes I bought for that express purpose (a month ago). Also, finishing before my girlfriend gets home from work would be good. She's going to want couch access.

The other day, I was looking up some D&D stuff, and something about the Wanderer's Diplomacy feat [a character option for D&D characters] just struck me as funny. Of course, my favorite person made it much funnier:

DEMONAC: [laughing] Okay, the short-description of this feat is "Gain special social abilities".
GIRLFRIEND: [smirking] Ooo-kay... that sounds like it would be useful... if it applied to real-life.
DEMONAC: Hmm, you may be right. Maybe more D&D players should take it.

Present D&D group excepted, of course. Now, my previous group... some of us could maybe use some special social skills. I would include myself, but I have a girlfriend now, so me no need social skill no more.

NEW LOOK FOR agc.deskslave.org

I finally made the big site update I've been wanting to make. There are obvious changes to the layout of the site, much nicer navigation bars, and a lot of the random stuff has been consolidated (and better organized) on a page called... random stuff. Go ahead and let me know what you think.

The biggest change is probably the AGC comic archives... instead of the old dumb page, there are now Next/Prev buttons and the ability to jump to a specific comic by typing the number in the box. Of course, to do this I've had to renumber the comics, which means that (after a short transition period), the old links (ex: agc.deskslave.org/comics/AGC26-9.html) will stop working. The comics now have simple numbers, and are addressed in this format:

Anyway, I'll probably be updating the Excerpts in a similar fashion soon, but I'm sure I'll have a lot of bugs to track down in the meantime. In the meantime, enjoy today's comic too!

AGC #348: Let the Wookie Win

EDIT: Oh yeah, you may notice that a few of the comics have "author's notes" underneath. While I set it up to allow me to do that, don't go nuts looking for them because I've only done three or four near the beginning. That's something I'll probably fill in gradually over time.
